With the help of ZNode support, I have finally got NetTiers and CodeSmith generating the right code. You are missing a CodeSmith project file, the ZNode mapping file is in error and there is a bug in CodeSmith, which I used SED to fix. Email me at: rcoker06@gmail.com and put 'ZNode Build Process' in the subject line. I can tell you what to do. I wasted about 3 days on this. I have a set of build instructions. I feel your pain.

By the way, if you are evaluating ZNode I must tell you that this things rocks ! I have a few problems with the code, mainly throwing exceptions when database or config options are out of whack. Also, no default 'error page', just a stack trace. Here is why ZNode is great: 1) uses MS authentication schema, 2) code libraries from NetTiers and CodeSmith (extremely cool). We are talking 805 files generated for you !!!, 3) great implementation of 3-tier architecture, 4) very non-sh**ty code, 5) very nice database architecture (stored procs, data integrity, nice naming conventions), 6) proc and variable naming that makes sense and project heirarchy that shows that somebody at ZNode knows what is going on. If you know what you are doing and have seen very bad code, naming conventions and general chaos in C# coding, you will appreciate this product.
